This summer is turning out to be a really sunny one. The garden is growing like crazy and the plants in the greenhouse are soon making their way out the door. Today we made a beautiful salad with all the colors of the rainbow with green and blue from the garden. Chard, lettuce, parsley, chives, dill and borage.
Oh summertime, an endless flow of adventures upon more adventures! It's hard to find time to link up on the web and make post about all the inspiration I find as I travel this beautiful country, but now I'm finally home in Sysslebäck so it's time for rest and to share my experiences with you.
This picture tells a lot about what I have been up to lately :) Beautiful warm and sunny day. Morning yoga with birds singing and a fresh summer breeze with the smell of Lily of the valley flowers. A long walk by the river with my little pirate companion. I feel so blessed to have grown up in such a wonderful place as Sysslebäck, with clean air and water. My spirit lifts up to the sky every time I take a deep breath in this lush valley and as I sit by the dark river, that I have been swimming in so many times as a child, I can feel it flowing through my veins as we vibrate on the same frequency... This water and me are connected, I can feel it.. After our sunny walk I made a Walnut Paté with a wild salad, I thought I would share the recipe with you! The salad is a mix of the edible plants I found growing around our house. Ground elder, sorrel and roses. There is also some lettuce, white cabbage and red bell peppers in there. I have not been updating in a while but I have my reasons. I left my cozy cave in Sysslebäck to go south for some spring adventures to Denmark and Copenhagen to start my Raw Chef and living food instructor courses! I finished Raw Chef 1 and 2 and it has been so great! The danes are crazy but funny and even though I had a hard time understanding them I felt our group had a good flow and I had the best time ever jumping around like a little child so exited to deepen my knowledge about raw and living foods. Now I am back at home planning a lunch buffet for the Raw food festival at Mundekulla! Big Thanks to our teacher Janne for sharing your knowledge and inspiring us to bring out our own creativity! Love and Health! I am in a hurry to the bus so I wont write much today, but I really wanted to share my easter smoothie with you because it was delicious!
Happy Easter! Pyret and I took a walk down by the river this morning which turned out to be a good idea because we got a little bit of sun in the morning time before the rain started pouring down.
When I got back home I noticed we have a huge wild garden right by our house so I harvested some ground elder and nettles for this wild smoothie! Woke up early with big white flakes falling from the sky outside, oh hello April with your mischievous weather. Perfect for a cozy inside day.
Some morning yoga, meditation and relaxing music. A long warm bath. My room and altar got the cleaning they so badly needed and my crystals are now sparkling and happy after some cleansing with paolo santo. The intention for the day is cleansing and letting go of old energies and thought patterns (and dust) that no longer serves me. Embrace the now. Patience, everything will come to me at the right time. It's been so sunny lately, I can feel spring is really on the way! I have been taking extra long forest adventures with Pyret and kept my eyes open for little green sprouts. I'm looking forward to be able to harvest and eat more wild foods and it's getting close now. Today I found some baby nettles but they're still a little to small, I have to give them some more time. I did harvest some sorrel though! They had survived the winter and were yummy so I brought some home for my salad.
So yesterday was my birthday! I love birthdays. They are always filled up with the best things ever. Hugs, smiles, love, laughs, well wishes and of course... cake! I decided to come up with my first own cake recipe and after a while of pondering how to make it I remembered I had frozen bananas.. Ice cream cake! Yes! Here we go Birthday Ice Cream CakeAfter my Karlstad visit I went to Grums, a small place outside of Karlstad, where Karline, Marcus and Line picked me up in a well decorated hippie van and we were off to their home, the amazingly cozy and eco friendly village Skattungbyn! Here they live in harmony with mother earth, with open minds and hearts the people of Skattungbyn take conscious actions through recycling and handcrafting with natural materials. A truly inspirational place. |
